e/merge 2008 took place over the weeks from Monday 7 July to Friday 18 July 2008. Presentations were grouped into 4 phases: "zooming into the landscape", "facing new challenges", "connecting communities" and "opening worlds". Presentations and discussion of papers in each phase, took place over 3 days and workshops ran for a week.

Peer Reviewed Papers

Peer Review Statement: Except for the case of five keynote addresses and nine invited presentations all proposals for presentations were double blind peer reviewed. Thirteen papers were double blind peer reviewed by at least two reviewers. The conference chairs then prepared a report based on reviewer feedback for each author including a decision to accept, accept with changes or to reject the paper.

Review Panel: The e/merge 2008 review panel members were from 9 universities, one Polytechnic and one College of Technology in 7 countries across 4 continents. Seven members of the review panel are at Professor or Associate Professor level and five others have Doctorates in their fields of specialisation.

Journal Publication: Associate Professor Laura Czerniewicz and Tony Carr will co-edit a peer reviewed special issue of The International Journal of Education and Development using Information and Communication Technology (http://ijedict.dec.uwi.edu/) based on edited versions of selected papers from e/merge 2008, for publication in early 2009.
